Xeriscaping
Xeriscaping is using a mix of native plants, artificial turf, rock, mulch, drip irrigation and hardscaping elements to design a low maintenance landscape that uses little to no water. This style of landscaping works extremely well with the Colorado climate. A well-planned xeriscape can reduce your outdoor water usage by 50% to 75%.
What Is Xeriscaping?
Xeriscaping is a landscape design approach focused on reducing water use while still creating a beautiful, functional outdoor space. Instead of relying on high-water lawns and plants, xeriscaping uses drought-tolerant plants, efficient irrigation, smart design, and soil improvements to create a landscape that thrives in dry climates like Colorado.
It doesn’t mean a yard full of rocks or a lack of greenery — when done right, xeriscaping is thoughtfully designed with native plants, rock, mulch, artificial turf, drip irrigation, and hardscaping elements that come together to create a low-maintenance and water efficient landscape.
Make your backyard bloom with custom landscaping natural designs
This is my fourth project with Highlands Landscaping, and once again, I couldn’t be happier. They went above and beyond, solving serious drainage problems (installing a French drain, fixing four downspouts, and redesigning the layout) while also redoing our patio beautifully.
From the start, John made sure the scope and quote were clear, and the team — Hilmar (foreman), Salvador (project manager), and Panta (boss) — patiently answered every question (and we had many!). The professionalism and care they put into their work really shows.
Thank you, Highlands Landscaping, for another fantastic project. We’ll definitely work together again!
